A low-energy Dell server, UniFi networking and Home Assistant form the home side of my setup, with Dahua and UniFi CCTV looking after the security side.

02 / WHAT I’M BUILDING
Ideas I can do something with.
I’m not a coder. Claude and ChatGPT have opened up development options for me. These are some of the projects and systems in my world.
01
My connected-life showcase
A personal site that helps people explore the technology around my home and working life.
The idea
Make my setup something you can explore.
The result
An immersive device scene, animated connections and stories behind each system.
02
Everyday admin, automated
n8n handles daily checks and updates to my backend system.
The job
Carry out recurring admin and keep the backend updated.
The approach
Connect repeatable steps in workflows that do the routine work.
03
Core framework
I’m currently building a core framework to replace our existing systems at work.
The ambition
Create a new foundation for the systems we use in the business.
Where it stands
In development. This is an ongoing build, with the replacement of our existing systems as the goal.
03 / ENERGY & BACKUP
Power behind the connected life.
My house has a Powerwall 2 with backup and a UPS system. Power continuity is part of the setup, alongside connectivity and computing.

UPS system
Backup for connected equipment
At the house level. Powerwall stores energy and provides backup to the circuits covered by my installation.
At the equipment level. The UPS provides another layer of continuity for the equipment plugged into it.
Conceptual overview. Circuit coverage and UPS runtime depend on the installation and connected load.
